Cat(h) vs the Minnie Mouse
Now I know why the 2 girls are always fighting, either verbally or physically, beating, pushing each other and snatching toys. The reason is the elder one is Cat(h) and the younger one is born in the year of the Rat. Cat and rat will not stop chasing one another! At least for now...

Wearing clothes on her own
Caryn is able to wear her clothes, such as pulling t-shirt over her head, pulling shorts or pants up. She loves the pull-up diaper pants too.

Sunday School
Caryn is still not used to Sunday School, as she would cling tightly to me every time. Looking at other kids born in the same year, compared to my December baby, I would secretly wish she'll be like them, who can obediently go into the Music Room on their own, sit down, sing songs, listen to Teachers' instructions. But, she's not ready yet, as this is the first school setting that is introduced to her. It probably didn't help that we didn't go every week, as there seems to be interruptions such as CNY, Sunday School break, either JieJie or Caryn fell sick etc. The Sunday School teachers are really caring and good. Thumbs up to them!
After 2 and half months, she showed some visible improvement by being willing to hold hands with her litte friends, play games, sit on the chair on her own etc. Best is her crying stop! Phew..
I'm grateful to the Sunday School teachers! Kudos to you all for reining in my wild little minnie mouse!

Answering Back
Can't recall since when the 2 sisters seemed to enjoy 'fighting' or brickering with each other. It usually starts with one snatching away what the other was holding and it would ignite into high-pitch screams or yells. Oh my! Girls are really good at screaming & yelling at the top of their voices..
It was one of those situations where the sisters fight again.. the JieJie took away MeiMei's toy and MeiMei deployed her most powerful weapon, that is, her extremely deafening and long-winded scream that called for an adult to her rescue.
Daddy was around with them at that time and although he was irritated, he merely said: "Do not fight."
MeiMei was quick to answer back: "I am not fight(ing)!"
Hahaa...
My little girl never failed to surprise us at the most unknowing time. Little did we expect her to answer back like that...
Sometimes, out of the blue, she would utter words that would take us aback. Her command of the language is still not considered good, as she will most of the time say something that non of the adults can comprehend. But yet at times, something funny will come out from her mouth.

Delightful MeiMei
I see Caryn as a very delightful child :)
Here's an example.
Hubby was telling JieJie that she'll have to miss school that day as no adult is available to fetch her.
2 yr-old meimei replied spontaneously: "I fetch you!"
Hahaa.. can you imagine a 2 yr-old fetching a 5 yr-old from school back home? :)

New look
A fresh new look for a fresh new year 2011!
After I applied the new blog skin, I realised I forgot to capture the old look for comparison.

Talking more, more in English
Caryn is speaking more English lately, and that makes me a happier Mommy :)
The short phrases/sentences that came out of her mouth today includes:
[To Popo]: I wa(nt) chicken.
[To Mommy]: I wa(nt) (th)is.
[To Mommy]: Excuse me.
[To JieJie]: Sorry!
[To Mommy]: I wa(nt) Pocky!!

Caryn passes 10!
Yeah! She finally passes the 10kg mark after 20 long months! My little petite girl is 10.2 kg. As for her height, it's always a challenge to make her stand still, let alone standing still against the height chart pasted on the wall. So I guessed she's near 80 cm...
There were funny moments when she tried to talk as the words uttered really make us laugh. Such as..
"I wa mook!"
means: I want milk!
and when she tries to call mommy & auntie at the same time, what came out of her mouth is "ma..di", which sounds like "mati" (malay word for die). Hahaa..
She enjoys playing ball with us. Hey, sounds tomboyish huh.. but she likes to hug her new pink Care Bear too. Back to playing ball, she'll be so excited that she'll shout:
"Di.. GO!!"
meaning: Ready, GO!
She recognises her fave cartoon characters such as the red puppet Elmo in Sesame Street and she says "Elmo!" and Mickey or Minnie Mouse, and she'll say "mouse".
There's once when Jiejie accidentally knocks her head against Caryn's and Jiejie apologises by saying "sorry". Caryn echoes "very"! Haha.. not sure if it's because she's can't verbalise the "s" sound & what came out of her mouth is the "v" sound instead.

Wearing Shoes On Her Own
Yes, Caryn can wear her shoes on her own without help at 19 months :)
I brought her to the GP for her final jab which is MMRV, ie Mumps, Measles and Rubella combined with Chickenpox. She could sense something's not quite right once we step into the doctor's room. She held onto me tighter as her sense of insecurity rises.
She finally couldn't hold it when I attempt to put her on the weighing scale & break into a loud wail. She continue sobbing and warding off the doctor's hand who was trying to measure her ear temperature. Finally it's the poke on her thigh that make her let out a thunderous cry that carries the power of tearing down the walls! Haha.. exaggerated of course!
Before we stepped out of the clinic, the doctor bid goodbye and was pleasantly surprised that she waved back :)
Alright, that was her last jab for now, unless I decide to go for the 2nd shot of Prenevar for children aged between 1 to 2. Hmm... let me think about it..
